So, still no job, still no ideas on what I'll be doing for my semester abroad and still no computer- though I have ordered a laptop and with any luck I'll have it by October. On top of that, there's a bunch of friggin' drama around the dorm involving drunken asses and the like. faechylde's had a rough month too... she's only now getting rid of most of the ( Read more... )

I'm actually okay with classes, it's all those books they want me to read that creates a problem. Unfortunately, I've found a wine cellar with barrels of crap hidden in grad school, but it does seem to get easier after the first semester or two. Not just because people adjust, either, it seems like they want to give you as much information as they can manage as soon as possible.
Also, shouldn't the extra vodka weight allow for more potent conking of the head? Then again, that might be excessive.

I'm supposed to read a bunch of material over the next week for theater history in preparation for a wickedly laid out exam that's more a race against time than a test of knowledge. That's my biggest academic headache at the moment... it would figure it would come from the one class I'm taking at the undergraduate level, wouldn't it?
By the way, did you get the message I sent to your gmail account? Just curious if you had an answer since there's still a lot of planning ahead.

Got the message, just hadn't found the time to write longer e-mails to people. I'll respond in the next day or two, for sure.
The only way I'm handling the reading is to avoid reading it too closely. It takes a little time to learn, but it's worth it.

You almost got me with that vodka line. I was all like, what? and then oh, ok. :P Actually, I hear Jack Daniel's bottles are the thickest, but maybe that'd be too dangerous.
Maybe you'd feel better if you consider that you have a closet and space under the bed to turn to. My bed is flat on the floor, and I have no closet. See? Could be worse.
