We are-- I am not entirely unaware of the current situation. And I can only apologize for the silence regarding the matter until now. However...

I have found a solution. But... I'm going to need your help.

Anyone who is able, or wishes to, please meet me in the lobby of the Discedo Historical Museum on Ingles Trail

ENTERING THE MUSEUM (interact with Q or your fellow players) exaudio April 23 2010, 00:02:13 UTC
In the center of the lobby, sitting on the kiosk that used to sell day passes, is Q. There are machines of all different types and sizes at her feet. She seems confident, composed, and ready to do her job.

She watches as people begin to filter in.

[Hitsugaya is among the first to arrive. He'd been going back to the library to see if he could find anything he could use when the post was made, so off her went.]

[Asthe isn't far behind Hitsugaya, and she's got her staff with her. She is not a happy Methuselah.]

It takes Yuri awhile to find the place, but eventually he makes his way in, face set. He has no idea this woman is one of the 'scientists', and even if he did he'd save his demands for answers for later. Now there was only fixing this mess.

"Alright, so where's this 'solution'?"

EXPLAINATION OF THE MACHINES (Ask Q questions) exaudio April 23 2010, 00:08:38 UTC
"What I've been able to put together here is a little hap-dash, and a bit complicated, so please listen carefully."

She then, as thoroughly as possible, explains each device and it's purpose. The four cage walls that need to be precisely set. The catch that would capture the ghost. And... The bait that would be needed to lure it out.

"...If you have any questions, feel free to ask."

"I have one question. What happens if this plan fails and the ghost escapes?" [He has his arms crossed over his chest, and he's not a happy camper. He just spent the better part of three hours getting a friend out of his closet]

"...I'm afraid I don't have an answer to that question. However, if left unchecked, it will most likely cause more problems, to the point that there wouldn't be anyone left to stop it."

What a horrible question! But, it only made sense to ask it, he was thinking it himself. He wasn't sure if he trusted these machines to do such a job, would they be able to cut it?

"Maybe something else should be planned just in case, even if it might not be as effective."

DRAWING STRAWS (Yuri, Raphael, and anyone else who tried) exaudio April 23 2010, 00:12:28 UTC
And then... The worst part.

Q held out sticks for the volunteers to pick, one by one, their length hidden by her hand. For each normal stick that is drawn, she knows that it is just that much closer to who will end up the sacrifice.

It had to be done.

He didn't hesitate to reach out and snag one of the straws, holding it closed in him gloved fist. Yuri was sure he was one of the odder volunteers: after all, he hadn't even been here a week, what did he care about the people going mad around him? But he was here, regardless.

He'd wait until they were all taken to look at his own

[His question "answered", Hitsugaya reached out to take a stick. There would be no point in checking until they were all drawn, but the grip he had on it turned his already pale skin paler]

Having heard the questions, and got the idea, Raph moved to snatch up a straw, picking at random.

"Hope this idea works." He mutters, and peers at the other drawers.

CAGE ACTIVATORS (Asthe, Flonne, Kaye, Sai) exaudio April 23 2010, 00:20:53 UTC
Q handed over the caging devices to the four volunteers, making sure they understood how to activate them.

"Remember, each button has to be pushed within 10 seconds of the first one. And you'll have to stay with them while the phantom is trapped, or else it might break free. You won't be in any danger, but... Do you think you can do it?"

[Flonne carefully took the caging device in her hands, feeling a tingle of excitement run down her spine. But also tension. This was a big job!

Swallowing hard, she nodded. Then politely raised one hand up while the other held onto the device in the other.]

B-but if we are going to have to separate to get these in the right locations, then how will we know how to time it right?

"I would suggest some kind of signal, like waving to each other. But it's up to you to all cooperate together."

I understand.

[Hmmm... A signal...]

PLANNING (work out IC how the capturing will be done) exaudio April 23 2010, 00:28:26 UTC
libertyfuckyeah April 23 2010, 01:14:54 UTC
There is only ever one plan for America, and it is this:

"You," he points to someone randomly, "will be my back up! You'll be my back-up too, and you, and you!" Thus he goes, pointing at random people in the room.

"And me?"

He squares his shoulders, gives a thumbs up, and you can just imagine the American flag billowing behind him.

"I'LL BE THE HERO!"

Yes, this is indeed the plan in his mind. No, no one will be able to change this point of view. It's like trying to make a puppy move a boulder: impossible and slightly cruel to abuse a puppy like that.

"Shut up," a dark man not far off spoke up, letting out a sigh. Testament had remained rather quiet up until that point. But America's posturing had gotten more than tiresome. Especially after dealing with those creatures the other day.

"If you have a legitimate strategy, speak it. You're wasting time making overtures like that."

tigress_of_kiev April 23 2010, 02:20:10 UTC
Asthe agreed with him. There needed to be a real strategy and she didn't like the way that America was acting. Heroics like that would only end in people dead and the problem unsolved. She would wait to see how they would try and figure things out. She knew her part, it was just the timing she needed.

"Heroics will get people killed."
