Sometime ago, while just surfing the net,
I found out that Crazy Pho Cajun was opening up in the International District. Looking up the address I couldn't believe where this new restaurant is located; this place used to be
Bún! You should already be familiar with the song and dance now; before Bún this used to be
Vina Thai Gormet which in turn used to be
Gom Hong. This is the 4th restaurant to occupy this place! Hopefully with the past success of Crazy Pho Cajun at their Tukwilla location this will be the restaurant to beat the odds and survive whatever curse that's running these restaurants out of here. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
On this cloudy not rainy day in Seattle I somehow manage to wrangle up Hayley and Pristine w/ Oliver to got out and give the newly opened
Crazy Pho Cajun Seattle a try. Before going in the restaurant we were looking everywhere for change for the... meter? Seattle has had a centralized machine system for a while now where you just put change or use your card to buy minutes which is then printed on a ticket and then you put that ticket on the passenger side of the car. We somehow manage to get 56 minutes worth of parking time!
Looking over the menu I was stuck between three different choices; Cajun Pho, which has andouille sausage and craw fish; Etouffee (which is what Hayley ended up getting), or a Po'boy. I decided to get the Soft Shell Crab Po'boy and paid $1.50 extra for fries.

Look at all that... bread.
I mean it's the most flavorful bread I've ever tasted but I barely tasted anything else! The soft shell crab, the tomatoes, even the plentiful lettuce! The bread just overpowered everything else! Not a fun dish and the most disappointing dish I've had in quite a while.
However I still would recommend this place. I was able to take a bit of both Hayley's Etouffee and Pristine's Short Rib w/ Rice dish and they were both pretty awesome! The Etouffee has a little bite to it but the flavor as pretty good and the soup like sauce is something that I would like to get if I go back.
Pristine's Short Ribs were the most tender short ribs I have ever tasted. Cut w/ a fork and melt in your mouth tender! I never knew that short ribs could be so tender but here it is! If Michael ever feels like short ribs I will take him to this place. He will die from how good these ribs are!
My final verdict is that Crazy Pho Cajun at least deserves a second chance; I'm just never going to get your Po'boy ever again!
Seriously there was about 10 minutes left on the "meter" and I was seriously thinking of visiting a second restaurant and getting something for take-out. Like a Meat in Window place and just getting a whole duck... for myself! Just drown myself in all that fat and grease I was so disappointed with that Po'boy! Shit I'm going to get something to eat right now to wash down the disappointment!
-Peace
PS: This has not diminish my opinion about Po'boys and I will find a better place to try one out one day!
