I'm right with you! I watch TV to be entertained, not plunged into depression. I'm still not overf CoE myself.
(I do like me some mpreg though... I've committed that crime myself on a few occasions, but of course in my 'verse Torchwood have Fluffs etc. to handle daycare, lol!)
I won't say I never read mpreg, I just have problems with it. Maybe I'm a stick-in-the-mud, but I just want Ianto and Jack and Tosh and Owen and maybe Uninsane Suzie to chase aliens and have interesting and possibly scary-as-hell adventures, and have happy, hot relationships. Especially Jack and Ianto. :) :) :)
I completely agree with you. I don't see the point of creating fantastic characters and plots, or developing relationships only to destroy everything after a handful of épisodes. It's certainly why I love so much 70's and 80's series. It was a time where entertainment meant something and where recurring characters were really recurring. (My latest deception is about NCIS LA. I never saw an episode before recently when I discovered Deeks/Kenzi couple-to-be. I found them so cute... So I caught up with the first four seasons to see where they went... only to discover that after four and a half seasons of flirting and ONE night together, the scenarists decided that they will stay just "friends".) WTF! Is that so hard to write some romance in an action series? Fanfiction writers do it without any problem (without being paid, by the way). I guess Professional scenarists can do the same. Anyway I love Sherlock and I hope they won't ruin another great series.
They did that in 'Without a Trace'. Two characters had chemistry forever, finally got together. Next thing you know, they're not together because 'She had too much baggage.' That was it. Never mentioned again. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I don't know who writes for tv now, but they are not very bright, I don't think. Maybe that's why I don't watch it much anymore.
