well, not much happened this week.
oh, except
CUPCAKECAMP BOSTON. yes, we went. andy and i frantically scarfed down two-dollar pieces of pizza in an attempt to get some "real dinner" while we waited in line. in retrospect, we probably would have been able to fit at least one more cupcake into our stomachs had we not done this.
and that was really the only limiting factor, how much you could eat. we weren't allowed to take any cupcakes away, but while we were there we were allowed to try any and all of the offerings. there were local bakeries, enthusiastic amateurs, and a lot of people who plainly just said, "hey, i'll bring some cupcakes so i can skip the line." SO MANY CUPCAKES. i think the final tally was around 3000, no joke.
my favorite thing that we tried was a root beer float cupcake - it had what tasted like some kind of liqueur in the frosting, and even a little straw on top. there was also a really delicious chipotle chocolate cupcake, and a yummy strawberry one with melty frosting that was almost oozing off the top. i think the point of the event was to allow bakeries and such to get some exposure and connect with potential customers, but of course i have no memory of which bakeries these cupcakes came from, because i was lost in the frenzy. finally, after sharing a cup of milk from the bar, we staggered back out into the chilly somerville evening feeling like we would probably vomit all over the T.
another thing that happened was that jesse burned me a CD, mostly of ridiculously obscene and hilarious bloodhound gang songs, which keep getting stuck in my head at inappropriate times. except for the ralph wiggum one. that is appropriate for all occasions.
