Me being me, gratuitously found the knightbus conductor rather cute. Until you got up closer and saw the bad teeth acne etc etc. His actor is older than I hoped. Such a shame.
I have this Theory as to why the bad guys (e.g. Malfoy) have to be more annoying and detestable on film than they really are- HP's got so much bad press over the years as Glamorising Witchcraft and Leading Young Minds Astray, and the only way the PR people can covered their asses is to make sure the distinctions between Good and Evil are painfully clear-cut, and, moreover, that Good seems far more attractive than Evil. Hence why Malfoy is a snivelling wimp, Pettigrew is in no way pitiable and Snape can't be tooooo bad.
I never said it stood on its own as a movie. It doesn't. It couldn't, unless it was about an hour longer. But I can't agree with you that CoS was better (as a movie, mind, not as a representation of canon). The Patronus Charm, however, sucked.
Dear Lord, not Harry smegging Potter. *clears throat* sorry. Won't comment. Should have youth group details by Wednesday. Seeing Dan then. If I don't in some way let you know by then, call me and ask if the polymorphs have completely devoured my sense of guilt. If that doesn't trigger my memory, nothing will, in which case the polymorphs have, in fact, completely devoured my sense of guilt. In case of this highly unlikely scenario, please find said polymorphs and destroy them, thus restoring my lost emotion. Thanks everso, me.
