I love being amused by little things like making up LJ titles. Ah, so much fun (and laughter).
I wanted to put a life update up here so that people would have some idea of what's going on with me (not that anyone who reads lj anymore cares really). So here's what's what with me.
I've been sick for about 6 weeks. Why? Maybe I have been smitten with some type of God-inspired plague or something. Maybe I caught some kind of superbug. Maybe I've just got a weak immune system. But I've had some kind of crappy virus for about 6 weeks straight. It's starting to wane... (I'm knocking on wood right now.) I hope I'll finally be over it soon.
Karate seems to be going extremely well for me. I can tell that my combinations are coming along very well. I've developed better control and power. My balance has improved a good deal. Everything feels a lot better, much improved.
For anyone that didn't know, the stray cat that had been hanging around Sarah's apartment, Pumpkin, came inside and had kittens. There are five of them. Two are all black, one is gray, and two are black with white spots. They're all very cute. They're at the point now where they're strong enough to run around and explore everything, so it's about to get really crazy with kittens everywhere here. So, if you want a kitten, hit Sarah or myself up with a request.
Also, it looks like I'm going to UGA for my PhD in social psychology. So I'll have to put up with Athens (and Athens will have to put up with me) for another 5 or 6 years. I've had a really crazy time with applications and everything going on, but UGA actually managed to work out. That's good though. It's a good opportunity for me. My professor seemed very pleased when I told him I was going to accept the position. (Also, he tells me I should always have an assistantship, which is awesome.) So yeah.
Work is...blah, work. Good at times, at others I wonder if the managers there have a functioning brain. But I'm probably going to hit up a temp agency in town soon and try to find some kind of better (or at least different) job for the next couple of months until I'm in school.
