A few weeks ago, a guy contacted me via email about potential translation jobs. Said he was going to Japan in January and needed a couple of documents translated. The documents were related to FOREX (foreign exchange market) and I figured he was going there to give a seminar or something

Yeah, that's a really common one. I'm glad you caught it before falling for it.

I love reading about scams. I had a secondment for a year when I was back in England and it was investigating organised fraud and identity hijacking. It was fascinating. If I could have kept it full time, I may never have left!
