Anyway, I'm glad he's denying it and fighting it so fiercely and publicly. That makes me more inclined to believe it's not with the police and that she did just go to the tabloids.

I'm also glad he's not letting it get him down and that he's getting on with things. I hope he pursues the tabloid to the full extent and gets a retraction.

I think him not knowing that just shows he didn't inform himself deeply on the matter. But I can't see what's that bad about his comment. Or it's just that this argument is invalid?

Not trying to defend him or smth, just trying to understand for myself.

His argument is invalid. It leads into the dangerous territory of victim blaming and makes people think that people like him, who can have their pick of women, could never possibly be rapists because they'd always be able to find someone willing.

I suggest reading up on it as I don't think this is the place for an in depth discussion of why men rape.
