Re: Pennsylvania Pals! excusemyfrench September 12 2005, 18:10:38 UTC
i don't think i was ever actually in altoona, this guy was just talking about all sorts of PA Barbies, and the only two I understood were the Altoona Barbie and the Grange Fair Barbie (I don't really understand how a Barbie doll could represent either, or any place in this state actually. so it seemed so funny to me at the time.)
I was mostly in Centre/Union County. As well a bunch of others I guess, I just can't really remember names at all.

A-frames remind me of girl scout camp, where wolf-spiders infested the cabins. Other than that, they are cute, if not exactly space efficient.

oh i wish i got to go to girl scout camp! or girl scout anything. i think a-frames can be really cute when decorated properly. i'm not looking for anything big seeing as that would cost a lot more money and I don't really have much anyhow. also i'm trying to become a minimalist and i suppose living in such a small abode would be a good thing for me.

i realized about a year ago how much i love pennsylvania. it's just like so huge and diverse, there's so much there... i mean, when you think about it, it's the size of some european countries. last week i went to and from wellsboro (in the middle horizontally, but almost all the way north, near NY state) and all the towns we went through seemed really really neat.

oh i know, the towns are amazing! it's so crazy, because you'll be driving for a long while surrounded only by farms or forests, and then all of a sudden you find yourself in the coolest town ever. I really like how the middle part of the state is fairly untainted by strip-malls and chainstores, or at least I didn't see an abundance. and the houses are a bit old and shabby and wonderful. it's so great. I wish I had realized this ages ago.

philly is basically the best part of pennsylvania, though. the rest of the state is secretly nice in a different way than philadelphia. some of the places are dull, but then there are random places that are just like little treasures. someday if you can you should go exploring :)
