Small victories..
The iBook is functional again courtesy of an Ecuadorian coin and some Arctic Silver thermal paste..

the ibook g3's and g4's were defective by design, generally an 18 month lifespan on the motherboard - to make them lightweight and small apple neglected to put anything inside it to keep the pretty white shell from flexing, with only a wafer thin aluminum heat shield and motherboard to keep it rigid all the flex ends up concentrating right around the gpu - thus any picking it up from the side damaged the solder points on the gpu a little more each time.. class action lawsuit went through and they replaced the first mobo we had for free with an unaltered design, this is the second one and it finally gave out.. you could still network into it to salvage files but the display (including the external display port) was jacked ( ... )
