So, it's been a long month already.  Yikes!

My Dad had surgery to remove the esophageal cancer that had attached itself to his lung on Monday.  My daughter, brother and I all arrived at the hospital at around 5am and were there until nearly 1pm.  The surgery took about three and a half hours, and the doctor ended up making a second pass to ensure ( Read more... )

I'm so relieved about your dad.

I totally understand your daughter's fear of the dentist. They are evil. (BTW, I still have my wisdom teeth)

*misses you*

Jeez sounds like you haven't had a chance to stop and draw breath! I'm glad you're dad's doing well, and the teen is coping with the pudding diet. At least the wisdom teeth aren't likely to grow back once they're gone.

So what's the new boyfriend like, is he a good kid or is he typicly male with deviant tendancies??

((((hugs to both of you for coping with it all so well))))

There's a dentistry chain around here (probably elsewhere, too) that keeps signs out front that read "We cater to cowards." Sometimes this is accompanied by a cartoonish person strapped into a dentist chair, shaking in fear as a dentist hovers menacingly over him with pliers. I'm not sure how they can attract cowards that way, but since they've been around for years, maybe it works.

Glad your dad is doing better. Oh! I've been hearing reports that a certain strain of salmonella is actually capable of curing cancer! Well, a very specific type of cancer. And I think it only works in females. And so far, only rats. But still! A dangerous bacterium that may potentially possibly lead to a probable cure for cancer! Awesome.

BTW, my first steady girlfriend was a childhood friend I had known for many many years. But she was the one who wanted to bring sex into the equation. Just sayin'. Girls aren't always the innocent ones. :-P
