I love Idyllwild in the summer (don't ask). Never thought of it snowing there, sounds beautiful.

Can't go Sunday, but tell me how it is if you go on Sunday and where you go. ;) Hopefully, I'll get a nice free day before it melts.

It was great to see you last night outside of a club! :)

Alaska.

My paren'ts said i could use our house up there this summer as a base camp to show my southern latitudinal friends the big empty.

Come with us.

I will show you snow.

Snow that hasn't melted in a hundred thousand years.

We'll put a stop to that sort of lazy snow melting right quick.

I do have quite a few vacation days left, you know. Don't bluff on something like that. I could definitely go for the serenity out there.

No bluff, the option is open.

Bring the redhead with you.

The only sticking point is that it would take about a weeks time to have any kind of 'real experience. And that's right costly.

We could fly, but people tend to forget that alaska is on the other side OF ANOTHER COUNTRY, and even then, most of it is uninhabitable anyway.

so my plan, in the broad strokes, is to get us all together and take the ferry. it's a leapfrog from here (seattle) to canada, then i think...2 ports in canada, then on to anchorage. From anchorage we take the train north about err....600 miles to my home town...for roundly 2313 miles.

it's a little far :)

The point is, it's an option, and if there is enough zeal for it, my parents have graciously opened one of our...five? yeah five, homes to us.

and it's better than iowa, illinois, and florida where the rest of them are.

..and then there is the California Classic: Crestline (on the way to big-bear, and lake arrowhead). Very beautiful, stunning really.

That's where I was last time. If I have a whole day to devote to it, that's definitely where I'm going. :)
