In the beginning, my own version of "intuitive eating" did not bring mcuh weight loss - but it taught me a lot about my relation with food. (Have you read Geneen Roth's "Women, Food and God"? Fortunately, she leaves God out of it for the most part, and it's a really recommendable book!) And in the meantime, after learning what my body REALLY wants (i.e. none of that crap, and lots of protein and fresh fruit and vegetables instead), I have lost 1/3 of my additional weight (which was not too much - "only" around 40lbs - as of this morning, I am 14lbs less than I was in summer) without feeling deprived of anything, and my mood is better than ever. I also learned a lot about "food value" and my own ethics concerning food on the way... but I guess everyone has to find their own way to healthy weight reduction. So, go for it!
