ALthough this must be terribly difficult and sad for you and your family...Hospice is a wonderful program and she will be more at ease/comfortable in her own bed perhaps?
she actually probably wouldnt know the difference [she suffers from alzeimers]. but i as well as the rest of her loved ones have more peace of mind knowing that she is somewhere comfortable instead of being in a depressing hospital.
My grandfather was constantly in and out of the hospital due to heart trouble. On one particular visit, he was in the hospital bed and under heavy sedation. I asked my grandmother how her car was running and if she needed me to do any repairs or maintenance. She told me that she thought she needed and oil change, and I graciously offered to do it for her. After an hour of conversation between my grandmother and I while my grandfather was completely silent, he suddenly boomed: "I can change the oil as good as you can!"
The best part was that he wasn't even a grumpy guy, he was actually kind of quiet. He was just plain tough.
i dont know what's going on with her tho. she cant go home unless she has a home attendant .... and if she doesn't like that.. she's going to have to go to a senior citizen home [i like to use the nice term lol]... which i'd prefer for her to do... because she'd be in brooklyn [where i live]. :sigh:
if she wants to be closer to you and the rest of your family, its probably best for her to go to the nursing home near you. my grandmother is at a nursing home here, and my mother visits her at least once a day, and i stop by every once in awhile. nursing homes arent too bad if the staff knows you keep an eye on your loved one. its a good option to have. (=
yeah i definitely think so. i want my mom to research into these places tho because i dont want her to go to a home where the attendants beat and rape the eldery people =\
