My chemistry teacher was explaining how paradodecylbenzenesulfonate works in water (you see, the main carbon chain is hydrophobic while the so3- substituent is not) by describing how a musk oxen herd will form a ring, horns pointed out, with their young in the center. You know, the melting of the polar ice caps is causing grizzly bears to move their territories farther north. They are now so far north that their hunting ranges overlap w/the musk ox. The grizzlies are able to bypass this "floating shpere of musk ox" defensive bond mechanism and with non-covalent, non-ionic, non-vanderwaals attractions, EAT the musk ox into endangerment.

Can your chemistry teacher explain that one? huh?

Well they are pretty dumb.

The polar bears probably do the exact same thing the humans do: pick them off one by one from 100 feet away with a rifle.

Okay, I can't make a musk oxen sphere (but would love to see it done), but it's kinda strange that you mention this because I was just reading about them for work today. Crazy world!
