Out of everything, I'm going to miss the Israelis most of all. I was reading the newspaper online, interviews with Tel Aviv residents about their opinions on the conflict in the North/ the Disengagement/ etc. It also asked if they were afraid of missiles reaching Tel-Aviv.
they pretty much were like "we support withdrawing, but also troops in the north. We don't really know what to do in the future, the only thing that matters is family and peace&quiet.
This guy was in the army for 25 years, and says he's "not afraid of anything." But is pro-withdrawl.
YES, I love this man... He pretty much said that missiles couldn't hit Tel-Aviv, but if they did, it wouldn't affect him.
This man believes in God and the soldiers, and whomever WOULD send missiles to Tel-Aviv [literal translations] "would forget the light of the sun" 0_0
My favorite answer: "I'm not worried. My only job is to make an honest living, and make people happy." yeeesssss.
this last one was priceless...
this is a literal translation, and I'm not sure what it means, metaphorically speaking... he said "HaMatzav Patata" which means, "The war is a sweet-potato."
hmm. Just things to ponder.
also, I guess we might be getting some hash tonight. Not sure about that. Although that was one of the things I wanted to do while I was here, even though I hear it's better in the States anyhow. Well, I could take it or leave it, I'm just saying it would be nice.
I guess I'm going to Ein Geddi this weekend, staying in a youth hostel and then riding out to THe Dead Sea/Masadah/Kumron.
I'm kinda pissed that there are only, like, 2 people at home that can speak Hebrew with me. =(
In the words of KC, "goodnight, America."
