I saw the Goblet of Fire

I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and all I got was this crappy reviewUnder a cut for major spoilers... Do not read if you have yet to see the movie, since my thoughts are pretty much scene by scene. It also has some pictures :) I'm sure I've forgotten things, but I wrote this late last night because I couldn't sleep so please ( Read more... )

OK. I generally feel the same way. The biggest problem with making these books into movies isn't because that they are long but because everything is connected. Like, if they decide to cut out house elves all together (which is fine by me as they didn't do dobby right for me in the second film) that completely murders the whole crouch storyline. Adding all that stuff back in would add another half hour to the film. I know I'd sit through it happily but, I'm not sure the nonbook fans would. And like, the world cup match. As much as I would've loved to see it, it kind of doesn't matter in terms of advancing the plot. Well, after you take out winky ( ... )

Yes, I totally agree. I'm just being a purist. I'm like that about a lot of things :p And its generally little things that get me picking too :p

And I agree that most of things they took out weren't essential, but I'm just being a prat because I wanted to see them! Heck, if they put everything we'd be watching a 9 hour movie - not that I'd mind :p What they did, they did well (mostly - I really didn't like the maze!), I just miss my backstory *grins*

I did enjoy it a lot. I just found the beginning and the end way too rushed. As I said you blink and you miss it. lol.

Yes, the Sirius sub-plot was well, non-existant. I'm right with you on that one!

Nothing wrong with being a purist! I was like that for the first two movies. I think I loved this movie so much because the fourth book wasn't my favorite. I liked it, obviously, but it wasn't like the third book. The third movie murdered the book for me. And I still watch it.. heh. Rupert and Dan are too pretty ( ... )

I liked your review. And I agree - it is *very* entertaining. I don't think Emma Watson is better - I actually think she has gotten worst since the first film. And I do miss SPEW because the name just made me laugh while reading the book, so to me, it was important that it should be included in it ( ... )
