So after spending a not-inconsiderable amount of time exploring the city, I've finally discovered the hospital. Well, if you can call it that. Most would call it a dilapidated ruin. Well, all right, I would, but I don't think that I can be blamed for that. I'm not used to working with such primitive equipment, but then, at least it's equipment of

I... I'm sorry? I was one of the top surgeons in the hospital I worked at. I finished my fellowship early and graduated in the top three percent of my class. I am more than capable. It's everything else I have to work with that's holding me back, sir.
You could help, you know. Getting some of these bottles tested and labeled so we know what's going to kill people and what will save them. Unless you think skilled trauma surgeons just fall from the sky, a little more cooperation would be nice.

I don't know much about your top three percent or the equipment you're used to, but I spent six years running a clinic in the slums of Kirkwall with nothing more than donations and what little coin I could scrape together. So maybe instead of talking about how the things you have to work with are holding you back, you should spare some more thought to working with what you have.

You really think you're that good, boy? I've handled broken bones and damaged bodies before, and I've never used anything like leeches either, so I don't know where you got that idea from.
And even if it wasn't just about me, are you really saying you're better than any of the other healers and doctors here, without even having seen our work? I suppose you're some sort of miracle worker then? Serah Three Percent here to save the day?

And age does not necessarily equal skill, sir.

But fine. If you'd really like to see what I can do, I'd be happy to show it to you. Assuming you actually care, that is.

Of course I care. Look, my first priority is helping the people of the island who get hurt. Just like you. So, let's put that at the forefront, shall we? I'd like it if pride wasn't the thing standing between someone dying and living, if you don't mind. Mine and yours.

[It irks him more than a little that Simon is now the one making it seem as though Anders isn't talking sense, but there's little he can do about that beyond swallowing his pride and nodding.]
I wouldn't allow anything to stop me from helping another, do not doubt me there.

[Simon seems a little relieved at the admission and nods in return.]
I hoped I wouldn't have to. I hope that we can at least work near or sometimes with one another in a professional and civil manner, at the very least.

[He'd like to think maybe they could, but he also doesn't know how Simon feels about mages and magic. Something he doesn't doubt will come up sooner or later between them.]
