I've had warmer welcomes.

[The audio feed picks up the even click of heels. She's been walking about (inside, thank you very much--between worms and wind, she's not very impressed), getting a feel of this place and sorting her thoughts.

She's either lost her mind or someone is very, very good.]Unfortunately, I'm not in the mood for games. That ( Read more... )

[This one made it inside without the get-to-the-gates speech. That's refreshing.]

Courtesy, weaponry, medical technology, food and clean water...

If you find anything that doesn't leave something to be desired, you're two or three steps ahead of everyone else.

['Everyone else', not 'the rest of us'. Between you and me, Shepard too might possibly be two or three steps ahead.]

[A small, amused laugh here--fantastic. She might as well still be in rural Spain.]

At least there a few walls with roofs attached to them.

They leak.

[She sounds more amused by this fact than anything.]

Wonderful.

I'd take rain over the wind, however. [Those leaves are not nice.] I hope this isn't a common occurrence.

It's not. And unless you've got a pretty big gun and a lot of practice shooting it, the wind'll be the least of your problems in about a half hour.

[She's figuring out if she should pursue the conversation, ask if the woman's sure she wants to risk it, but y'know, sometimes people need to figure things out for themselves.]

Not quite.

It was the side, and I was awake.

[So basically yeah, she is.]

And I'm guessing not much of a justice system exists here. [Given this "game" and the state of what she's seen. Not that she's one for law or anything.]

In a sense.

A few people are making grabs for power, and in general assholes have a tendency of getting hunted down, but... Actual government or security agents? No.
