[The camera pans to a trail of slime leading towards the shore. Who ever's recording is following it until it guides him just out of reach of the tide to a rocky area.]
The trail ends here.
[Some of you may recognize Sai's voice. Now we see the slime simply disappearing around a large pile of rocks

Nevermind the surprise of hearing his roommate's voice speaking in translated English. Or that he saw squiggles of ink go into a tunnel. There were some things that just shouldn't be done.]
Do that and people are just gonna get killed. There's recon, and there's suicide missions. That sounds awfully like the latter to me.
Those things are afraid of fire. I suggest blockin' any tunnel exits and just takin' them out with a blaze.

I've had enough of'em. Not walkin' into their homes uninvited.

It's a dangerous mission with no guarantees. It's why a voluntary mission.

Right. None of my business if people wanna kill themselves.

Will you be taking part in this mission?

If they're sendin' people in to those holes and caves? Hell, no. I don't got a suicide wish, buddy.

[Good. You're not expendable just yet, Eliot, especially since Near still hasn't found any allies living closer to him.]
Alright then.
[Unless you have something more to say, he ends the conversation there.]

Ultimately this person's identity isn't of immediate importance; Light already knows this isn't Near's speaking voice, as "N" had already taken the liberty of contacting Big Boss by text message, and most likely wouldn't bother doing something as pointless as contacting the man twice.Of course this mission is dangerous. That's why I'm requesting those with special abilities to step forward. As far as blocking the tunnel exit goes, the reason I hesitate to do this immediately is because that's the only opening we've located thus far. According to Sai's preliminary report, the underground network of this tunnel is labyrinthine. If we're intelligent about this, we may be able to find the rest of the openings to the surface ( ... )

[Eliot wasn't too keen on the idea, even if there does seem to be people with special abilities running around. Super soldiers, or people with abilities who should be given such a title if such things existed to begin with.]
Yeah, but that's still a mighty big risk. Unnecessary. You don't go sealin' tunnels by followin' the enemy underground, that's fightin' the enemy on their turf, in their homes, for God's sakes. You're jumpin' the gun, and you'll just get people killed.

Again, I understand your concerns, which is precisely why I had asked those who may be able to send in non-corporeal projections of themselves down into the tunnels to take a look around. I can assure you that I don't believe in playing games with life, nor do I believe in fighting senseless battles. If there is no-one suitable for the job, then I would agree that the best course of action is to destroy the entrance.

I'll be glad to. Do you have a preferred means of contact? I don't exactly have a means of reaching you if you're anonymous.

Post lookin' for Eliot. Or a public post about your discovery. I'll keep an eye out.

Fair enough. I'm sure we'll speak again in the future, Eliot.
