You had mentioned your magic before.

Were you gifted with such abilities before your arrival, then?

Well they try and sell potions and things for that in Kirkwall as well. That's hardly new.

[That and the ones about Starkhaven Princes needing somewhere to send their money for whatever reason. Like he hadn't heard enough people getting caught up in that one.]

Did I have magic before I came here? Of course, I was born a mage. Why would you think it would work any other way?

And have you experienced these scams first-hand?

[He frowns a bit at the idea of 'top hats and rabbits', still not really understanding how that has anything to do with magic in the least, despite it being explained previously.]

It isn't a particularly entertaining story, nor does it come with a moral that you might be able to garner wisdom from.

Or rather, I haven't been long enough in your acquaintance to know if it might be a benefit for you to listen. So I'll save you the pain of having to listen to me for longer than common courtesy dictates.

You know, I'm not asking because I think it might be entertaining or teach me something. I was asking because I thought it might be something I'm familiar with, something that might let me know if magic is the same in our worlds or not.

Being from two different places doesn't mean that the magic can't work the same way, or similarly enough. Is it really that difficult for you to talk about it? I'm starting to think you can't answer a simple question.
