I'm not certain I'd really call this a game, no matter what they say. Games aren't about people fighting for survival.

i suppose that is true for the pawns.... but what if the masters of this game are the ones playing?

I'm not certain that anyone has to be benefiting from this. Deriving some sort of sick, sadistic pleasure, maybe, but that's not really the same thing. I'd hope anyway.

But your guess is as good as mine as to who's behind this and what they might gain from it. In the time I've been here, I haven't heard of anyone who's found out what's really going on.
