[After a pause, Shepard tilts her head just slightly. She knows that feeling, where you're almost more grime than person.]
Bathrooms are down the hall. They're not exactly private, though.
[Which is why Shepard hasn't showered yet, herself. She's not specifically a prude, she just doesn't take her armor off in a room she doesn't know surrounded by complete strangers.]
[Shepard at this point trusts women as little as she trusts men, so that's a moot point for her either way, but Sheva could by all means enjoy a shower or two.]
[The only answer Sheva gets is Shepard reaching over to shut her laptop and sliding the pistol back into the holster on her leg. Read as: Getting ready to temporarily leave their room unattended, god help the poor soul who tries to tamper with anything. And since the mun just reread the room descriptions and found out the beds are actually the top-bunk over individual desks, pretend that's how it's been the whole time, kay? Kay. She's shifting her other three guns up onto her bunk and out of immediate sight, a reflex even though she'll be able to see from the bathroom door if anyone breaks in.
And then she's turning to Sheva. Since it wasn't that hard to find the bathrooms:]
[While Shepard put her weapons away, Sheva did the same thing, bringing only her handgun and her knife. Once the commander was ready, she cautiously opened the door, and once she knew it was clear, motioned for Shepard to follow.
Outside the bathroom door, she paused, gun drawn and hand on the door knob. She gave a silent count to three before pushing the door open.]
[There's nobody in the bathroom right now, thank god. Otherwise, they would have inevitably scared the piss out of some poor teenaged girl. Sheva's got a gun, so Shepard lets her make sure the bathroom's clear while Shepard herself ducks back out the door and leans against the wall outside.
[The shower turns on shortly thereafter, followed by the sound of dropping clothes.
Finally, a good time later, the water turns off, and Sheva eventually appears, towel wrapped around her with her weapons strapped to her legs in their holsters.]
My clothes are in the dryer. [It was necessary.] No problems I assume?
Nothing. Like the whole place is afraid of the dark. [Which makes sense in a way, but Shepard's spent most of her life on various ships in the vast expanse of space, so she's not exactly used to sunny weather.]
[She can't protect people here. Not everyone, anyway. If she tried, she'd be here forever before she felt like the civilians were safe enough without her. The Reapers would reach Citadel space, and race after race would fall and wonder where their protector was now.]
I protect my own. It's the best I can do right now.
[Spoken like a true commander. Sheva was still idealistic and trying to remain optimistic.]
Understood.
[She felt like she had just been scolded. Luckily, the dryer buzzed and she was able to duck back into the bathroom. When she returned, she was fully clothed and clean.
[Shepard kind of has that effect on people. She didn't mean to scold, if that helps. If Sheva can manage to protect everyone, good on her, no kidding. It just isn't something Shepard could offer here. She already has a whole galaxy on her shoulders, whether she's there to save it or not.
When Sheva returned, Shepard lifted up off the wall and started heading back toward the dorm. (She wasn't trying to ditch Sheva--she figured Sheva would walk with her.)
Once they arrived, she set her pistol on her desk, sank down in her desk chair, and swiveled it around to face Sheva. Better to get this over with sooner rather than later.]
Where you're from, what were you fighting?
[A less personal starter question than 'who trained you' or 'who do you work for'.]
[Falling into step with the commander, she kept her eyes sharp, even if they were in the dorms and apparently safe.
Bringing up the rear, she closed and locked their door before making her way over to her own desk. Handgun free of it's holster and setting within reach on the desk, Sheva turned her chair and sat down.
It's a moment as she considers her question before she responds.]
I'm a Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance agent, BSAA for short. It's our duty to track down bio-organic and viral weaponry to prevent terrorism. Before I came here, I was on a mission in Kijuju, Africa.
[She pauses, giving Shepard a moment before she turned the tables on her.] What about you?
Half organic, half synthetic, and massive. Wiped out all of the galaxy's life once before, millions of years ago. Now they're coming back, and we have to find a way to stop them.
[More like 'Shepard has to', but she's not going to say that. Easier to let people here think she's just a starship commander than the galaxy's primary hope.]
Which side's the school on? If I can see it out my window, I could give you cover fire until help gets there.

Is there at least a bathroom for each gender?
[Naked in front of other women she could deal with no problem, but washing out one's private bits in front of a strange man was out of the question.]

[Clearing the bathroom she could handle on her own, but it'd be nice not to worry about intruders while bathing.]

[Maybe here she can atone for all those victims of Umbrella she had to kill in Kijuju. Doubtful, but it was worth a try.]
