zwei [Video] Day 16

Oct 24, 2011 19:23

[The feed turns on with Erik dressed in a simple black turtleneck, looking out a window. He's sipping on a mug of coffee, and he takes his own damn time before looking at the camera. The helmet is not on--but it's nearby, sitting on a table.]

So with the change in day, it appears we will be going on another mission. They rightfully know giving us ( Read more... )

You seem like a man with his thoughts in order. I get the feeling I'm not quite what you're looking for. Far as I know, I don't have any powers worth mentioning. But I am one of the best trackers you'll ever run across. Seems to me like a skill what might be found useful around here. I'm a straight shot, and I've faced plenty of the creatures here already in the short time I've been here. Lived to tell the tale, at that.

I'd go to whatever lengths necessary to keep the rest of these people here safe. So I'd like to offer my abilities to you, should you find a need for them. You have my contact if you do. If you don't, then good luck to you. I won't bear any ill feelings, certainly.

You have my attention, mister...?

[Quite fixed, actually. This is the type of human he likes. No designs, blunt. It's what he likes in Eliot, in Olivia. Picking up his coffee he takes another sip, before placing the mug down once more. It gives him the time he needs to think.]

I'm more than willing to accept you into the group. I never explicitly stated that non-powered were excluded.

[Implied, perhaps.]

Have you considered who you'll work with on the upcoming mission?

Stephen Hart. [There's a pause as he thinks about it.]

I've been a bit occupied since I arrived. Only made a few allies. Most of my time has been put to getting a feel for the area. The forest especially. Spent a night there fighting for my life with a very powerful fighter named Shepard I consider especially valuable.

I don't know how interested she'll be, but she is definitely one of the best fighters I've run into here. Fits your interests slightly better, too. [He pauses at that, not certain she wants her abilities well known. They had seemed a last resort.]

I'm just looking to put my weight where it will be the most useful and I'll admit the other option really doesn't appeal to me.

Erik Lehnsherr.

I wouldn't be surprised if she is one of the people in this post, now.

Though I'd like to ask why you ended up in the forest.

[He hasn't learned everyone's names yet, obviously. And please prove you aren't an idiot, and you got stuck in the forest for a reason.]

That's what this is supposed to be--the alternative, to that.

We'll be glad to have you with us, Stephen.

[At least for now.]

I dealt with creatures like the ones here where I came from. We were trying to get an idea of what was out there and how dangerous. Got a fairly decent idea and the scars to prove it.

Those aside, I'm alive and I got the information I went in for.

[Well, he realizes it was a mistake, and he's not complaining. Another point in his book.]

Small favours.

[It is a hinge of sarcasm, but not condescending. It's...his version of a laugh.]

And what exactly is out there?

A lot of very unfriendly customers. [His voice is tinged with a slightly bitter tone. He was trying to keep his usual views. They were beasts, wild animals, probably protecting their territory, but it was hard to be sympathetic when it was a you vs them scenario.]

Some rather nasty rodents about the size of small cats. Hairless felines with horns and vicious tempers. Thick, black sludge that eats away anything it can get a hold of.

I can give you the full run down on them if you want. We had an encounter with a large, shadowy figure, roughly human shaped. Though after it split my side open we didn't stick around to find out what else it could do. I caught a few glimpses of things flying in the trees, too. They appeared to be bats of some kind.

Haven't encountered any of those, yet.

[But he has had some interesting two headed creatures, large dog creatures...wonderful time, truly.]

Were they wild?

[Or were they controlled; Erik wonders how many are native to the island, or have been placed there to make their lives difficult. How many are controlled by the corporation.]

They followed the behavioral patterns of ravenous wild dogs, from what I observed. Persistent, and quick to find potential prey. They don't seem limited to territorial areas, either.

I ran into some in the mall area we have here, as well. Those appeared controlled--much less than wild.

[one of it sits well.]
