After posting a question in the Nano forums about choosing plot over characters, someone pointed out "And you'd probably get a more interesting discussion if you didn't ask loaded questions after heaping gratuitous abuse on a program that many WriMos are fond of."

I just explained myself over there better, but maybe I should explain some things here

People do like drama and characters bitching at each other. Think about it...what ELSE are reality shows about? And the popularity of those stupid things we all know sadly. Though RDM is stupid for saying plot is nothing. PWP fics aren't anything that'll keep people watching for more than once. Good stories have lasting power. In a couple of years, maybe less no one will give a crap about Battlestar Galactica other than the diehards. Stuff like that has its 15 mins of fame and then quickly dies

BSG was supposed to be marketed as a military/political drama that was supposed to "make us Think". I don't see how it's doing this with a character drama
