Merlin: A Chuisle (4)

Woo, almost done! I had a really hard time figuring where to break this, and in the end the natural break was at the end of the third scene even though it was really long. So this chapter is longer than the rest: 6,404 words, which makes the last chapter shorter than I'd like, but that's just how it goes ( Read more... )

Omg, I want to punch Arthur in his stupid princely face so badly right now. That was such a creep thing to do, making a sexual advance towards Merlin after all he's been through??! UGH!! I was very pleased that Merlin called him on it, because it really seemed at that point that Arthur wouldn't let Merlin go to where he'll be safe and away from Camelot b/c he desires him. At least that's how it seemed to me.

There's no way in this world that I believe Arthur actually has love for Merlin, not after all he let him be put through without ever even TRYING to let Merlin explain. What a selfish little prick.

I hope the world isn't horrible enough to have me fated to finally bump into Bradley James anytime in the next day or so, because I might kick him in the nuts on behalf of your Merlin and that's really not the sort of impression I want to make on one of my favorite actors. You write very well, but I just can't stand your Arthur as of now. Off to part 5!

“even standing there before the king and seeing the disappointment and betrayal in Uther Pendragon’s face.”
Why on earth does Merlin give a flying fck what Uther thinks of him?! He’s a prick and a cod and a tyrant- like wHY?
This is the same Merlin who contemplated letting Morgana assassinate Uther? What kind of masochistic BS is he pulling 😭 Forgiving Arthur so easily- even before Arthur apologized in any way btw, like in what world did Merlin think they were still friends? There’s love and then there’s slavery.
What Merlin feels for Arthur here (and in the show sometimes) isn’t love. It’s Stockholm syndrome and Arthur’s a selfish prick who has the emotional intelligence of a spoiled toddler. That’s not just prattery or being a bully, that’s borderline evil and narcissistic of him to not consider Merlin’s feelings at all and only focus on how everything impacts him.
