Okay, this is the part where I hope that everyone else knows as little about Kevin's magical powers-change as I do, and then where I pray that my idea for resolving the plot doesn't sound as utterly stupid as I think it might. Uh. :D

I feel it appropriate to let you know, kevin has always been able to use his old powers, he just doesn't anymore out of fear. I'll consider this plot as gwen giving him a 'tune up'.

Huh, okay. I honestly wasn't sure, since I'm pretty sure they never addressed it clearly in Alien Force, though I may just have missed the reference!
