actually baekyun doesn't sound like "bacon" at all. bacon is pronounced "bay-kon" while the "baek" is more like "beck" and it's a rather soft sound. the "hyun" is a soft sound as well. and last time I checked there's no "h" in bacon.... kind of hard to write it out but I ranted about this in my voice meme and the difference is clear!

LMAO SORRY THIS IS ONE OF MY BIGGEST PET PEEVES AND ANNOYS ME TO DEATH AND PEOPLE NEED TO STOP SPREADING IT LIKE IT'S A FACT!! besides if anyone makes a comment like "I've never seen bacon be so hot before in my life" or "I want to marry bacon" I'm just like...... that's because he's not a piece of bacon HE'S A PERSON and if you wanna marry a piece of bacon, well that's fine by me but I am questioning your life choices.

.......lol I sound like a bitch rn but oh well. I just.... needed to voice this out loud haha

otherwise good job on the pimp post!! :) I skimmed through it bc I have no attention span to speak of but I applaud your effort.

i think i understand the bacon thing though because in korean pronunciation if a word ending with a soft k sound (sometimes romanized as a g) is followed immediately with a word starting with the h sound, you omit the h and convert the soft k sound into the hard k sound. i actually learnt all this in a korean 101 book orz

so baekhyun would really sound like bae-kyun instead of baeg-hyun because of korean pronunciation rules

i hope this clears things up!

I actually studied korean for three years lol. I don't mean to brag but I even won a language achievement award for it, so I like to think I'm pretty decent at it.

anyway bae-kyun doesn't really sound bacon unless maybe you're reading/saying it with a super american accent or something. idk that's the only way I can imagine it's possible

oops i apologise if i sounded like i was insinuating other wise ;A;

hmm i always thought it was just the k sound that made people think of the word bacon i never knew that they would read both words as the same?
