During the SM Ballad period, Lay tags along with Chen to meet Zhang Liyin (to help his pronunciation etc). Lay has always been in love with Chen and they flirt a lot but hadn't really gone far as to establish anything.

Zhang Liyin could already tell what was going on and she speaks with Lay in mandarin with her advice while the three are together - Chen, still not fluent with his mandarin only watches
