And perhaps, Kris was just another Alice, like the rest of the human race, easily lured by the teasing creature as it darted around his mind, daring him to fall once again into the burrow he had swore to never return to

Kris quickly shook the thought away before quickly remembering that he still needed to reply to the invitation of one of his acquaintances on Facebook about a social event that was going to be held in a week. He couldn’t afford to think of the past now. He pulled up the Facebook page and quickly confirmed his attendance because even though he was not close with her, he knew that it was crucial for a person to able to extend his social network, unfortunately. Suddenly at a loss of what to do, he looked at his watch, which showed twenty-five minutes left until the time everyone would return from their lunch

They didn’t have time to resolve the fight properly and neither wanted to give in and admit that they were wrong. Baekhyun continued losing sleep over his auditions while Kris pushed Baekhyun out of his mind and worked harder at his exams. The thought that they would eventually break up didn’t occur to them at all, both of them waiting for each other to make the first move. Before they knew it, Baekhyun has passed the audition and Kris accepted an offer to further his studies in Vancouver and it was too late to mend anything

He wasted most of his time moping around his room, uncaring about the time passing or that his exams were approaching soon. Staring at the ceiling and letting his memories of Baekhyun play like a movie from a reel of film was his favorite past time. He couldn’t stop seeing shadows of Baekhyun, everywhere he went. He didn’t know what he was thinking. He couldn’t live without Baekhyun. Kris was dangerously close to failing his course, had Tao not pulled him together

It wasn’t foolproof, though. Occasionally throughout the years, he would scroll down the newsfeed and be greeted by pictures of mutual friends who met up with Baekhyun, and he couldn't fathom how anyone could have changed so much, yet stay the same. Baekhyun still had the boyish, playful grin that Kris has always loved but he has matured somehow, looking at the camera with more confidence that Kris wouldn’t have imagined Baekhyun having. He always ignored the blooming pain in his heart and Baekhyun’s presence would have settled in his mind for the rest of the day and he would not be able to concentrate fully in his work

I think this was really well done! You gave a lot of story without really "doing" anything; it was all on Kris and in his head. It worked. I enjoyed it. c:

omg, *screams* Thank you so much for your kind words that I don't really deserve. If you are the original prompter, I feel sorry that I couldn't do your prompt justice. When I saw this, I knew that I have to fill it (even though I have never attempted writing before ;-;, sorry about an amateur filling this in) >_< Actually, Kris's college friends are EXO-K in Korea while those who worked with him are mostly EXO-M, with the exception of Tao who is Kris's cousin and Lay (Mr. Zhang, lol). The ending is kind of hopeful and open-ended with the appearance of Lay because I don't want Kris to be sad anymore C:
