Selective mutism

A few years/months ago Minseok had a fight with best friend/boyfriend. He said some really harsh things and best friend/boyfriend left their shared apartment in tears. He got into an accident and died. Minseok hasn't spoken a word since.

Any comes into the picture and tries to get Minseok to open up and talk again.

It was on repeat, it always was, it never stopped. How could he stop the memories? How could anyone? He wished someone could tell him...but then, he could never ask. It was like a horror movie he could never get away from. The images were bad enough to recall, but the words...the audio-that NEVER stopped

Screaming. He screamed so much that night, after the cops had called. The EMTs on the scene using Kris' recovered cell phone to find the listed contact under the 'in case of emergency' file....it was a mockery, really...that his body should have been so mangled while his phone survived with only several cracks from the hit and run.

Statements. To the cops. The doctors. Parents. Oh God, his parents!

Never, he could never look them in the eyes. When the statements and explanations stopped, so too did his words. Drying up like tears upon his tongue.

"It wasn't your fault." they said, how could they say that? They didn't know, but he couldn't force the words past his lips to deny them. They didn't know how it was him who had chased Kris out and into that storm...the same words he couldn't dredge forth to admit his own shame, and that made him feel so much worse.

But that had been two years ago...two long, long years ago...
