When Yifan first tells Junmyeon that he's going to stay back in Shanghai after their showcase to visit his family, Junmyeon doesn't think much of it and just smiles understandingly and nods in return.
Junmyeon boards the plane with his other members, not worrying about Yifan - just hoping that he has a good time with his family.
Two days pass and it's time for Yifan to return so that Exo-M can continue practicing for the music shows and awards. Junmyeon waits with the other members in their dorm for the managers to return with Yifan from the airport, preparing a little surprise to welcome Yifan become. It's nothing much, just a small cake Kyungsoo and Chanyeol baked together, decorated by Zitao and Luhan with the icing.
Hours pass and it's late when the managers return. Most of the members are already asleep, but Junmyeon, Minseok, Luhan and Yixing are still awake.

He opens his mouth to question the absence, but Minseok just shakes his head, silencing Luhan.
Everything feels like it’s on autopilot after that. Luhan keeps the cake in the fridge and helps the other three carry the members sleeping in the living room to their respective rooms, being careful to not wake them.
The managers bid their leave, telling them all to sleep well, that this will all be discussed tomorrow morning.
Junmyeon drags himself to his shared room with Sehun and lies down on the bed. The lights are turned off, he’s under his blankets, but he can’t sleep.
His mind’s too awake. What happened to Yifan? Is he okay? Did some accident happen?
Junmyeon shakes his head at the last question. He’s not going to let any negative thoughts invade his mind right now. He needs to think positively. All of this will be sorted out by tomorrow.
It’s been almost three days since he last had an actual conversation with Yifan, the last one being on the 12th, when they were leaving Shanghai.

Junmyeon doesn’t know what to feel when he looks down at the screen of his phone, the headline staring back at him with its big, taunting letters. He can feel the bitter taste of betrayal in the back of his throat, but his stomach twists with worry and sadness. He feels so much at once, and he just doesn’t know what to do - and now, he can’t even turn to another leader, partner, for advice.
His thumb unconsciously scrolls down the webpage, down to the comments section. Junmyeon feels like puking when he skims through them, the netizens openly bashing Yifan, Exo and SM.
Practice is a mess now; no one’s really dancing the choreography. The members are spread out around the studio, some huddled together, others by themselves.
Junmyeon himself shuffles into a corner and curls into himself. His back’s against one of the mirrored walls, his legs drawn up so his head is resting on his knees and his arms wrapped around his legs.
He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. Counts to ten, exhales and repeats. He tries to clear his mind of ( ... )
