I had an "aha" moment when the doctor told me I had a fever during my visit. If I'm acting like my cat does when he has a fever, I probably have a fever! In other words, when I feel sick in a generalised, hard to define way, moving seems a lot of effort, and perhaps I get a bit dizzy if I exert myself, it's probably a low-grade fever.
