book, suburbia and me

Spent today and will spend tonight working on poems for my book coming out later this year from EOAGH Books. They are written but need to be placed in Google docs, some are being edited, but mostly they are going in as is. Fun to do! I have discovered some other old poems filed away and those are of some interest as well. I could spend every ( Read more... )

It occurred to me today that in some ways, I have the life I wanted. That is, working PT -- 34 hours a week, and making enough to live on while I have time to write. A bit more time and energy than when I work straight 40 hours. Being able to work from home five hours for two days a week is really helpful. The time spent commuting can be exhausting. However, being out and in an office away from home for three is fine as well since it is good to get out.I'm glad things are moving forward for you ( ... )

Oh yes, I do know what you mean! It is a battle on and off, to not get distracted, even at the office but more so at home. I do it though, more or less. It does mean I take up more time at home doing what I would normally do in five hours at work. I mean one hour at work becomes an hour and a half working from home. But... it is still nice. I like the mixture of working out and working at home. I hope you can find that blend soon! Or soon enough!

Have a great night's sleep! You are a few hours ahead over there.

It is a good thing when we realize that we want what we've got or got what we wanted or whatever. I'm in Burlingame at the moment taking a break from driving to catch up on correspondence, LJ, and drafting the perfect cover letter. You know, the things that I wanted. Heh

I was good seeing you last night. Real time socializing with you and other friends does help me with calibration, so Thanks!

I had a great time also! I've been so busy with preparing for the conference but I wanted to take time out to see you. It was well worth it and fun. I like how we are both making progress in our own ways, in spite of fits and starts.

I do think I've reached a place that is part of where I have wanted to be, but there is still so much instability and -- well, I am not really where I want to be ultimately - but getting closer. But I did realize right before I wrote the above post that really, I had wanted to be working PT and have time to write and to make enough money to feel OK, if not well, fantastically great. I can now get ahead from there. I am not sure how long this phase will last but it is good it is here now after so long without.

Good for the cover letter writing! I think your ideas about Uber are good ones.
