Hi expats! Im living in Chile right now and have reached my breaking point, haha. My boyfriend and I are considering moving to Vancouver or New Zealand and I would love to get in contact with, hear stories about, share knowledge, etc. about these places if there are any expats there right now! Thanks!

Housing is not as costly as a lot of more crowded countries but food etc is (due to the fact that a lot of stuff has to be imported and when it gets there, there's a very small population to consume it).
After 5 years of living in Europe and paying an average of 7 - 15€ for a new paperback, I almost had a heart attack when I went back to NZ for a visit this summer and had to pay $30 for a paperback!
And I realize it was winter there when I went but there's no way I'm paying anyone $10.99/kg for carrots - not even in winter!
Still, if money's not an issue for you, it is a gorgeous place to live and a lot more laid back than many other countries, in many ways.
In particular, if you are into nature, there's a lot of it still left there!
Getting work could be a problem and will deopend a lot on what qualifications and work experience etc you have.

Other than that, it just depends. I love my chilean friends and family, loveeeee the beaches and the whole country offer sso much physical beauty. But the two downsides I mentioned were strong enough to have me considering just as beautiful places without those two things.
