I live in Kyoto too and unfortunately our nightlife has a lot to be desired. Recently it has gotten even worse, to quote a friend of mine...

So yeah. Metro has a Jpop night I think on Wednesdays?
and Labtribe sometimes has stuff going on. But a LOT of places have shut down recently and unless you want to go to Butterfly (meatmarket)there really isn't anything :o(
