We only communicate when we need to fight, but we are best friends... Right?

It's bullshit.

That was the mantra that'd been with Miles since he'd had his little chat with Shane. It's bullshit. And when he'd bought the plane ticket to New York. It's bullshit. And when he'd had to ignore listening to some teenybopper behind him babble to the girl next to her about Zac Efron the entire flight.

It's. Bullshit.Ain't that the ( Read more... )

Sasha probably should have been expecting this.

The anger, of course, she'd expected. And the blame. Of course he'd say it was her fault, she had been spending more time here than in Los Angeles. It didn't matter that this also meant that she hadn't been around to actually do anything, it just mattered that she wasn't around. And this was Miles who was starting something, so not only was it her fault that she wasn't around, it was also her fault because she was expected to know that he'd have an issue with her not being around, without him ever saying it.

She was looking at blame on top of blame, but the thing that she really didn't know where to start with was this talk of ratting her out. He clearly hadn't done it, but the fact that he was admitting that he wanted to pissed her off. She'd always assumed that her middle of the night panic calls were just between the two of them. And now, at the first sign of trouble, Miles had tried to rat her out?

What a fucking jerk.

Well, that wasn't anything new, but this particular level ( ... )

"Oh, I missed you plenty."

Bitch.

He might go into saying abandoner other things, but Miles felt 'bitch' was a great place to start. And maybe even more than sufficient overall.

Just because he was a writer didn't mean he liked overdoing it with words. It degraded whatever you were trying to do. You had to watch out for that kind of thing. In work, or in life, it was always true.

"I just wanted you to know how fucking ridiculous the shit you put me through is." Because she had the gall to start talking about what he went through with Lorelai -- Something she herself had been a considerable part of-- like it was funnyAnd he couldn't do a thing in return to get back at her for it ( ... )

Bullshit. That's what he was calling it. His mental block was bullshit.

What Sasha wanted to know was whether everything that went along with it was also getting the charming little title of 'fucking bullshit'. If things like her trust in him, or her feelings towards her friends, were also, by extension, bullshit.

Wouldn't it be just like Miles to make light of something like that? Just because he had a girlfriend who could tolerate more shit than most. Had he forgotten that most people didn't? That Sasha was one of the few who had stood by him over the years ( ... )

The injustice of the situation was lost on her. Sarcasm factoring in aside, which he definitely expected, any understanding of where he currently stood was a long way off. He could tell.

That was so fucking wrong he didn't even know where to start with it.

And so, gritting his teeth, he simply glared at her as they shared a long silence. In which a victory may or may not have been conceeded. He wasn't going to say.

He wasn't really saying anything else, either.

He... Sort of didn't know what to say.

"... And what sort of fucking replacement is B for me, anyway?!"

Well. He could say that.

And now, Miles was tempted to turn around, walk right back out again, fly home, and explain to Lorelai that he was done. It would be simpler than to endure anymore talking at this point ( ... )
