I'm going to get blasted for this but... Go back to Windows?
Sure, it's bloated etc but it supports most shit straight away. You dont have to continually fuck around with it and you just double click most shit, whereas Linux half the time if something doesn't work you have to go through command lines and config files to fix it.
I used to have dual boot.. until one day windows xp died and wouldn't re-install... and i refuse to get vista.. thus turning to linux. Don't get me wrong though, there are several tings I prefer linux over windows - when linux works it really works. But when it breaks, you pretty much gotta start from the ground up :/
For some reason, on my desktop Vista is a bit odd. But on my laptop, its incredibly fast and stable. It's so damn fast on the laptop I cant believe it, and the laptop is lower specced than my desktop.
A friend borrowed my laptop and installed XP... now I'm going to install Vista back on it and kill him.
Latest saga: i moved the ram sticks out so I could give them a brush, now grub keeps going 'Error 17' or 'Error 22' on my ass... can't even re-install windows or suse 10.3 over it...argh!
(Have downloaded Kubuntu, will give it a try thanks!)
