Your oldest daughter has just scribbled all over the dining room walls, and has taken to screaming to get her way. How do you discipline her?

Heh well she's six on Tuesday so it's not that likely any more - and she really, really should know better. Access to all pens, pencils, crayons, art supplies etc would be revoked for probably about a month. Access to the wii would be lost for about a fortnight. Pocket money would be forfeited, possibly to cover the cost of new paint, if required. (At a pound a week, that could be quite a few months' worth!) She can stay in her room until she stops screaming. Once a suitable apology is given we can talk about whatever gave her to do such a thing in the first place. I think that about covers it :-)
