For reference- September 15th IG
Just organizing her thoughts for when Ling is gone so I can keep them straight ^^;
When we last left Ran Fan, she was feeling like she wasn't performing her job well enough and that, if her experiences so far weren't failures, one was likely to come.
She didn't do much for a while. On the 9th she got cookies from Fakir and Ahiru to take back to the apartment and ran into Rise on the way. She talked with Roy on the 10th [double check] about the recent disappearances. There was a monsoon on the 14th, but from her standpoint it wasn't that bad.
So, on September 15th she will awake to a rather nasty surprise. Ling, along with all of his possessions, will be missing but she's going to be stubborn and look try to find him anyway. Too bad she never figured out her Ability before now... [Note to self: Might wanna bring that up with the mods, though it has come into play with TYL. Craaaaaap...] Watanuki is also gone, and unfortunately for the poor guy she's going to put his disappearance second.
Once it's finally gotten through to her that BREW took him home, she's not going to be happy. There's just a cavalcade of failure in her thought process about this. For one, she never felt like she did her job well enough during the time they both were in Death City and now she won't get to amend that.
Secondly, while part of her will of course be a bit glad that he's back home, she knows that the future entails her losing her arm in some way (which she's still considering another potential failure due to lack of details) and him getting taken over by Greed, so really she can't rest comfortably on that thought.
And finally, bottom line, she's not with him. If she's not with him she feels like she's not performing her duty and that's all she really has. Plus she tends to panic and worry way too much whenever she doesn't know where he is and/or what he's doing. Also, she's never been without him (or at least a member of her family) before, so she'll be very lost. Everything she's ever done has been with Ling in mind. With him not there and her in a situation where she has no chance of finding him, she won't know what to do with herself. She's never had to think like this before.
So yeah, depression is very yes here. Not as bad as what I've outlined in the TYL event, but this will certainly lead to a rough patch. Within two or three IG days, however, she'll realize that BREW is supposed to send them home if they win the war and will get back to looking for a partner and finally make an appearance at Shibusen. Outside of her conviction, though, she's gonna need a lot of help.
Problem spots- as I said, she is going to be COMPLETELY lost on her own. I NEED TO MAKE A CR PLOTTING PLURK/POST AND SEE WHAT I CAN FIGURE OUT. Anything that happens in the next few weeks will be extremely important to wherever she ends up going. Which is hopefully not a wall ;o;
