SXSW passed through Austin this past week and now I'm all out of energy and my body is sore from walking everywhere and from having spent Saturday night trying to survive the crowd at the Wavves/No Age show

Hahah, even before you mentioned it I was going to say "I bet Pains of Being Pure at Heart were your favorites". That album is so ridiculously good. Glad they're good live too.
Superdrag! I actually pre-ordered that album and it took a few listens but I came around to it in a big way. It's like their real old 8-track stuff. All fuzz and distortion.
Am I that predictable? Or are they just that great?
I love that record so much and the band pulls off the songs so well live, that the songs sound better live than on record at times. A few of the songs are played a little bit faster and the fuzzy guitars are a bit fuzzier.
The Superdrag set was good. It was all new songs, so I was a bit disappointed because I really wanted to hear "Pine Away", but they were just fine regardless. I look forward to hearing the new record.
They were a great surprise. I skipped their set last time they played here, but was glad I caught them this time. I have a friend who was raving about them and he was definitely right.
