I want to pay homage

Holy Cow!

I remember listening to him doing sports, but NOW I remember him in Stalag 17.

And I don't think he owned Stratton's...

Truly a well-lived life.

He was a very cool guy.

When I was 8, I went on a TV show out here and they gave us kids our own transistor radios... you remember when transistor radios were the shit, right? They'd run for ages one one set of batteries, those were the days. In fact, I BET you remember teenagers walking around with a transistor hitched to one ear!

Anyhow, I got into listening to LA talk radio on some A.M. station where people used to call in all day and all night, and Gil Stratton used to have one of the shows... and I used to listen to him. In fact, he's the only DJ name I remember from that era.

It was interesting, I learned all about adults and adult life through talk radio.

Keith Olbermann gave a nice tribute to him tonight on Countdown.

Stalag 17 is still one of my favorite films.
