pipes frozen

The pipes to the 3rd-floor apartment of my house froze up this morning, some time between 3am and 6am. I caught them in time so they didn't burst, putting a space heater on each of the 2 runs of pipes (1 each kitchen and bath). I also left the faucets open on 3rd, drained the pipes, and left the 3rd-floor water shut off at the basement

Bryn's family had one of their pipes burst on Christmas Day on year. It required significant excavation of their walls to find it, but they ultimately made the bit of pipe that burst into a Christmas ornament.

Here's to not making more Christmas ornaments. :)
