Standing around near a column, Tami waited for her partner to show up. She didn't know anyone named Ashton Anchors, but she hoped he would be tough enough to be able to win the first round. Her main objectives were to win the pretty looking bracelets and to impress her brother.

"Ashton Anchorsss!" bellowed the girl once she grew impatient.

Hearing his name, Ashton swivels around, looking for the source of the voice. He eventually realizes it's the small girl who called him, he wanders over, wondering what she could possibly want with him.

"...Yes? I'm Ashton."

Something about this tournament began to make Tami feel awkward. It was probably the fact that there were dozens of people in the audience and she managed to see a few familiar faces amongst them. However, she decided not to share her doubts with her so-called partner.

Ashton Anchors was a total dope. And she hoped she wouldn't have to focus on defending him too much.

Ironically enough, Ashton wasn't looking forward to babysitting a little girl on the battlefield. But hey, at least he wasn't fighting the Ten Wise Men. That was a plus, right? But after her attempt to show off her powers, he was really starting to worry about the outcome of the match.

Beat skated into the arena, ready and able for anything to come his way. Or anything that his limited imagination could think of, anyway. He hadn't met his partner beforehand, but Beat wasn't really worried. After all, this was both a way to have some fun and a way to get his self-esteem back after being thoroughly thrashed by Envy.

Buguese wasn't pleased with the idea of fighting in teams. He would much rather do it by himself. But if that was the price he had to pay to get an occasional fight, he didn't have much choice. He decided to finally meet with his partner in the arena.

"We were paired up, if I'm not mistaken," he spoke, just to confirm.

He skated up next to his partner, hopping off his board. "Y'must be Bug-somethin'. Well, 'least you look like y' can handle yerself."

He turned to the other side of the arena, waiting for their opponents to enter. "Y' ready fer this, yo?"

Stepping out into the arena, Rally was slightly intimidated by the surroundings. Looking around to see if anything noteworthy was there, he was relieved to see that the battlefield seemed flat, clear and straightforward.

He waited for Alphonse to come join him, and also for their opponents to make an appearance as well.

Alphonse stepped out into the arena as well, a smile on his face and a hand waving out at his brother, though he could not really see him from where he stood. Looking at his partner, he asked, "Are you ready?"

"I think so." He grinned, glad that his partner was still eager to do this, but he couldn't entirely get over the fact that it had been a long time since he was in a similar position. "All we need to do is hang in there until we can knock one of the others out... It's simple enough."

Sitting in a chair near the Medical Cart, Alphonse had both his hands resting against his eyes. No, he wasn't crying, but he was pretty upset that Teddie had gotten hurt. Not that he himself was in any better shape as he was bruised all over and even had a tiny cut on the side of his head from the earlier ice shard hitting him.

Slowly, he stared up at his brother, not really sure of how to respond to his question. Just as he was about to say something, he closed his mouth again, feeling he would just say the wrong thing.
