Walking into the lounge, he didn't expect it to be so festive in there.

"I guess it's Valentine's Day today." Ben uttered aloud, the calendar on the wall confirming his theory. Shrugging, he headed to the table to begin picking up some food.

He might as well, right? Free food was free food, after all.

Free food was free food indeed-- and it was sweets, even! Rose had no qualms about filling up her plate as much as she could.

Seeing a boy nearby that she didn't recognize, she gave him a hearty "Hello!" as she moved down the table.

Ben couldn't help but smile. "Hey." He hadn't really talked to little kids much, not since his own days as one, but it was nice to be able to talk to one now. Besides, maybe she could somehow help him decipher the mystery of the train. After all, she was probably the daughter of someone important on board. "How's it goin'?"

"All right." She took a bite out of one of the sweets on her plate. "Are you stuck here, too?"

Teddie came running in, hearing some rumors running around the train about some sort of party. Teddie loves parties.

"Teddie loves parties!!! Oh, and this song! You spin me right round baby right round like a record baby!"

Of course, the image would not be complete without a dorky dance, and somehow coincidentally, it happened to be something very similar to the music video to the very song he was listening to.

Ran had been lying down on the couch, a pillow over her ears to try to drown out the annoying, outdated music. There wasn't much else to do and she had been coming to the lounge every day, so she didn't feel like she had to go somewhere else. However, the sound of Teddie's voice caused her to look up.

She knew he was around, but hadn't had a chance to talk to him yet. Once she saw him spinning 'right round' like he was, she knew she had to intervene before he ended up destroying the cart. "You're going to break something, most likely your head."

Oh! Look here! A pretty girl had decided to talk to him! But him, break something? Teddie scoffed at the idea.

"I don't see why you would say that. My dancing moves are 'fresh, homes.' Fresh moves like the ones yours truly can do could never bring harm to my precious head."

As he was saying this, his hands made contact with one of the plates full of sweets, making its contents fly everywhere.

Raising an eyebrow, she folded her arms. "Do you even know what you're talking about?" Where had he even picked up words like that from?

Well, Valentine's Day. {...} had seen a fair few of those go by in his time as a zombie, and they never seemed to change-- candy he couldn't eat, love he couldn't share in, just another day of another year as one of the undead.

Loitering by a wall, {...}'s face was as blank as ever, standing stiff and unmoving. Even if he was apathetic towards the holiday itself, he liked how it was gathering people together. Something about being around people like this, happy people... it made him feel fulfilled.

Walking into the lounge, Asuka realized right away that it was Valentine's Day. Even though this was the American celebration of the holiday, it still meant it was February 14th. And to her, it was imperative that she have a boyfriend to share the day with. She'd always had some goon by her armside when she'd celebrated in the past.

Looking about, she tried to find some schmuck she could use for that purpose. Some attractive armcandy might help improve her image around the train. Nearby, there was some weirdo that at least didn't look too bad. Stomping toward him, she yelled, "HEY! YOU!"

"Hm?" Looking over to Asuka, {...} tilted his head slightly-- surprised, but not showing it especially well. He wasn't expecting anyone to talk to him. Oh well. "What do you want?"

"You're over here by yourself. Don't you feel pitiful right about now?" It was harsh, but then again, Asuka's middlename might as well have been Harsh rather than Langley...

Cisqua clearly was not familiar with this particular celebration, so she wandered around the lounge hoping to gather what was going on. She was an open-minded woman, after all, and any reason to party could be a good one.

Unfortunately, she felt awkward just going up and asking someone. Seeing how little explanation there was, she figured it must be common knowledge around here.

She eventually wound up near the sweets, and decided she might as well take a few samples for now. "Well, they have some nice cookies, at least!" She picked one up and inspected it curiously.

Again, Ran found herself back on the sofa, cushion over her head once more. This was the third or maybe fourth time a particular song boomed through the speakers. She was irritable by that and by the fact that Teddie had gone off. It wasn't that she was particularly jealous, but she kind of wanted to spend some time with him even though he barely knew who she was.

Groaning, she lifted her head up, contemplating whether to retreat to her room or stay.

She took a step back. It seemed Ran was lifting her head as Cisqua was looking at her, but the two failed to make direct eye contact. This was unfortunate, as Cisqua had an urge to speak with her now. She decided she might as well head on over there and get it over with.

Holding a paper plate with some sweets she collected, Cisqua walked over to where the bespectacled girl was sitting. She attempted to strike up a conversation with her usual smile and etiquette, and hoped that bringing snacks might boost her chances.

"Ran, hello! You look a bit distant again, so I thought I could join you."

Shrugging half heartedly, Ran merely glanced over at Cisqua. "Oh, well, thank you."

She looked around at the room, looking rather annoyed. "I don't know why the conductor even bothers with these little ceremonies. It's not going to make everyone forget that they're away from their homes and such."

As he had no idea what Valentine's Day was, Aang was a bit surprised when he wandered into the lounge and found it transformed. Taking a step into the car, he surveyed the food, decorations, and party-goers.

"They really went all-out on this stuff, huh?" he said aloud, mostly to himself.

"Yeah, tell me about it." Ed wasn't too far off from Aang, and couldn't help but throw in his two cents. "I come here to get a little quiet time on the couch and suddenly it's a party."

He didn't recognize the boy, but that hardly mattered. The same could be said about almost everyone around here, it seemed.
