South Dakota

While some would suggest boycotting South Dakota because of the recent outlawing of abortions there this seems silly to me. I mean, really, how many of us ever went there in the first place. Not exactly a hot tourist destination. Instead of a simple boycott I think we should all go and steal things from the state!

Yeah, the boycott is sort of pointless. And to give these folks credit they are considering making an exception to the law for tearful young Christian virgins who were raped and thus unable to save themselves for marriage. You gotta give these guys credit!

"A real-life description to me would be a rape victim, brutally raped, savaged. The girl was a virgin. She was religious. She planned on saving her virginity until she was married. She was brutalized and raped, sodomized as bad as you can possibly make it, and is impregnated. I mean, that girl could be so messed up, physically and psychologically, that carrying that child could very well threaten her life."

jesus fucking christ. now if its just your standard old date rape then fuck her! let her have the baby. or ven if she was savagely raped but not relgious.

fuck the religious right.

yeah, totally. but of course, the bill actually makes NO excpetions for any kind of abortion, even if your health is in danger, or you were raped or it was incest. none! except MAYBe if you might die. but even then if a doctor doesn't try hard enough to save the fetus he or she could face five years in prison for performing an abortion.

god bless america!

Actually, read William Saletan's piece in Slate today about the bill. It doesn't give any exceptions for abortion, per se, but he effectively tears apart the bill's logic, and shows why it actually creates more issues for pro-lifers than it solves. Yes, the way it would be put into practice is awful, but in the realm of judicial action, which is what this law was passed for in the first place, it sure doesn't look like it will hold up.
