I hope that one day situations like this cease to make the news- not that I truely believe that rape and brutality will ever not be a human problem, but because women like her speaking out will be the norm, and not the exception.

Cultural relativism works only to a point. Beyond that point, it deserves to be rooted out and destroyed.

I agree on the only to a point part. During some history class I took in college we talked a lot about wiether things like communism were wrong if the people consented to it. (At least, the theory of Communism, even if the practice has never seemed to work out that great IMO) It has just always been my personal belief that as long as people were consenting- even in the consent to give up personal freedoms because of some idea that it would make things better (we all do that to some degree any ways), well as long as we were consenting then it's okay...

Like the issue of Dominance/submission lol. For a lot of people- it's a horrible thought. But for me, everything comes down to consent :)
