about amonthago, i was driving home really late.it was very dark, and stars were everywhere. when got on top of a hill i noticed a gigantic light, kinda round, but no defined shape. it did look like a star, but it was about the size of a silver dollar (if you held one out arms length) it stayed for a second, then xoomed away till it was completely gone, and that only took a fraction of a second. it was bautiful and not atll what i would have thought of a "ufo" . of courseno one fully believes me...
i think we must have seen something from the same place, or very much alike. i am really um, ?happy? to know that someone else saw one of these
it was fucking amazing

I was curious so I did a search...
and this is one of the things I found:

09-06-1973 b
A coastal, sighting: stimulated considerable interest when a UFO was reported to have plummeted into the ocean off Tybee Island. The United States Coast guard station located there, evinced so little interest that no search craft was directed to investigate the incident. Among the witnesses were the usual contingent of law enforcement personnel plus Savannah Beach Mayor Allen Hendrix.

I had a similar experience many years ago in NJ. A group of us -- all sober and straight -- sat on top of a mountain and watched about ten red lights go back and forth across the sky, in a flight "pattern" that I can only compare to a swarm of fire flies. IThere was one very bright white "star" up to our right, and I kept glancing at it because I didn't think it belonged there. One time when I looked at it, it suddenly took off and made a straight line for the horizon. All the little red lights followed, like a bunch of wayward ducklings following their mother, and they all disappeared over the horizon.
