A bit of bad news...apparantly there's been a tightening of laws in Japan that prohibits the sale of cell phones to people w/o a Gaijin Card (AFAIK, anyway). I tried getting one at AU/KDDI and that's what they said...and they said that even applies to Pre-paid phones now.
Vodafone's about to sell its stake and leave the Japan market so I think we might be screwed unless our companies can help us out somehow.
Right. According to AU / KDDI's website, a passport is valid as long as you have a Japanese address and three or more months left on your visa. Also, Tim said that the process is a lot more lax if you get a phone and sign up for a plan at a duty-free shop.
So Vodafone is soon to be no more? They always seemed like they were in last place because of their lame phones, but they didn't seem that hard up. Let's hope this translates into less Beckham exposure.
Super Robot Wars! It's just one of those games that I was so sure that would never see its day stateside (Sakura Wars being another)...a sign of the times?
Oh, I'm here pretty permanently as well...well, until I get fired anyway :)
Anyway, I'm right in Nihonbashi so tell me if you want to do something. You use MSN right? What's your account?
